Mary Bradbury (nee Ross) was born in Selkirk, Scotland and was the first woman solicitor in the Scottish Borders. She moved to Sheffield in 1938. She was a magistrate and deputy chairman of the Sheffield Bench.
A keen artist from her earliest days, she painted in oils and watercolours throughout her life exhibiting in London, Paris, Edinburgh, Harrogate and Sheffield.. Many of her pictures are scenes of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. She also painted when on holiday in Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
